Altough in a bad condition, the castle represents a cultural monument of great importance. It was built in the first decades of 19^th century by baron Jovanovic. The state owned estate in Socica was bought in 1832 by Ciko Selas. After 1857 it belonged to dr. Nestor Mesarovic and his children and later after them the estate was inherited by Mr. Bela Majtenji.
